Supporting God's Missionaries

"If we only do what we know we can, where's the faith in that? We have to step out in faith and trust the Lord to provide."

— Eddie Miller, Teen Challenge Jamaica
Mission Conference 2000

In 1994, Redeemer allocated $5,000 to World Missions in the budget. In 1995, it was decided to remove Missions from the budget and step out in faith, committing to give as the Lord provided. This action removed any limits to our mission support and opened the door to a greater show of faith. During 2001, our support for Missions totaled some $75,000.

The keys to our giving are:

  • Missions Pledge - A commitment for regular giving (weekly, monthly, or quarterly).
  • Faith-Promise Giving - A commitment made based on faith, a financial amount beyond your means, but not the Lord's. Seek guidance for what the Lord may want to provide through your hands. This aspect of faith in action changes lives and opens our eyes to just how God blesses us.
  • Designated Gifts - Sometimes people have a "Godfall," (others might call it a windfall) an unexpected blessing enabling them to make a special gift.
