Community Outreach

Adopt-A-Grandparent

Adopt-a-Grandparent of Atlanta serves the needs of seniors by matching them with caring adult volunteers. In addition to nurturing the ongoing relationships between volunteers and seniors, the program provides a wealth of programming assistance and healthcare assets to seniors who might otherwise lack necessary support. In addition to monetary support, Redeemer helps sponsor a Christmas party each December for this group. Our people prepare food, and a group travels downtown to serve the meal and the love of Christ.

Family Promise

The Family Promise Network program brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes through a network of local congregations. In addition to monetary support, Redeemer is excited to be a host congregation several times each year. Each hosting week we provide lodging and three meals each day. To visit their website, go to www.familypromisegwinnett.org.

Meals for the Homeless

We have an active group that feeds the homeless on a weekly basis. In addition to food, the homeless are also given the “gospel.” During the winter months we collect blankets and coats, which may be left at the marked bin in the church foyer.

Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative

We reach out and support our community through the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op. This local ministry helps with food, utilities, partial rent, prescription drugs, gasoline and oil. We provide monetary support, and have a barrel at our welcome center for people to share food items with the Co-op. This ministry serves people in the following zip codes: 30039, 30078, 30017, and Gwinnett portions of 30052. To visit their website, go to www.segwinnettcoop.org.

Valentine Box Project

Each year we send Valentine “care” boxes to military and college/trade school students, or any young person post high school that needs a positive note from their Redeemer home. These are packed near the end of January each year with donated items.

We support other ministries in our community and world as well. For a complete list, see serving our world. If you would like more information on any of these ministries or would like to volunteer to serve, please contact Terri or Vicki.
