GoldtimersChurch Ministries Church MinistriesGray hair is a crown of splendor, it is attained by a righteous life. — Proverbs 16:31 The Goldtimers organized in September 1995, with the following mission statement: Though our society emphasizes the values of youth and productivity, the Goldtimers want to reaffirm that there are many gifts and resources, great experiences and abilities among the older adults. Our many years of living give us a perspective needed by the younger members of our society. But God is not through with us yet! We have many more years to grow as disciples. The Goldtimers exists to help nurture that growth with worship, bible study, service and community. This group will encourage people to look forward toward the later years of life as an opportunity to redirect energies and reinvest life in new directions rather than simply a time to retire from their life's work. The Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer Goldtimers will seek opportunities for further service and growth as they respond to God's call to mission in this place and time. Who are the Goldtimers? We are PCR's older in body and young in spirit generation. We seek to help our PCR family and community wherever and whenever we can. Membership is open to all who "remember World War II" or are "50 plus". (If you are younger, we'd love to adopt you!) The group enjoys outings for social, cultural and "eating experiences." We participate in Senior Adult Activities of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, and support all programs and activities at Redeemer. If you wish information on the Goldtimers and our activities please contact any Goldtimer or Maria Mims, 770-979-0531 or E-mail. If you have not received Goldtimer information I promised you, please place a written note in my mail box. I misplaced several requests, and for the life of me, cannot remember to whom I have spoken.
