prayers & squares
The goal of this new ministry is to provide a prayer quilt for each member of Redeemer who is facing a life-changing illness.
The idea behind these lap-sized prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt. Each knot represents a prayer.
We need men and women who would be willing to assist with cutting squares, sewing, and assembling the quilts. If unable to assist, funds or Joanne’s coupons are appreciated.
There will be an organizational meeting on Saturday March 6 at 1:00 pm in the fellowship hall. Please contact Jo White [770.978.4507] or Claudia Forester [770.381.9268] for more information.
the food pantry
at the S.E. Gwinnett Cooperative is in immediate need of jelly, canned fruit, pork & beans, canned peas, spaghetti sauce, tuna, mayonnaise, diapers sizes 4, 5, 6, and Kleenex. Remember, February is Redeemer’s month to stock the food pantry, so bring your donations now. Please do NOT bring bulk size packaged items unless they are prepackaged and may be separated for distribution. Drop off your gift of boxed or canned or packaged food items in the BIG barrel located in the foyer.
